Not just the real coyotes are scary in Wellesley

February 9, 2012 by Bob Brown

coyote fyffe bridge/cordingly dam jan 2012

Ran across the scariest fake coyote ever recently on the Wellesley-Newton line in Lower Falls at the Mary Hunnewell Fyffe Footbridge. Was reminded of this given the current real coyote issues Wellesley is dealing with.

The Charles River has been raging at that spot, off of Rte. 16 East. If you haven’t been over there, it’s worth a look.

By the way, Wellesley Trails Committee and Newton Conservators representatives tell me that the Wellesley-Newton line runs down the middle of river at that junction. Dan Brody, contacted via the Newton Conservators, pointed me to a USGS map showing as much.
