Rebecca McFall, K-12 director of curriculum and instruction in the Wellesley school system, has been named superintendent of the Lincoln, Mass., public school system. McFall has been with the Wellesley schools for 12 years, according to the Lincoln school committee, which says her responsibilities have included: analysis of assessment data for the district; aggressively working on reducing the achievement gap in Wellesley; instituting and implementing professional development programs for faculty, supervision and evaluation for district administrators; oversight of supervision and evaluation of faculty; creation and management of curricular budgets and budget planning; and other select duties. More from the Lincoln Journal.
Meanwhile, back in Wellesley, the superintendent search continues, and an update will be provided at the School Committee meeting on March 20. The official superintendent search site hasn’t been updated since January, though the school committee did say in February it had hired a consulting company to help it select candidates, and that company held a public forum in town.
In other school news, the Townsman nabbed an interview with Ruth Quinn Berdell, the town’s former school business manager, who isn’t happy about being let go recently by Wellesley. Quinn Berdell has retained an attorney to help her make her case.
