Sheryl Boris-Schacter, Hunnewell Elementary School principal since 2006, has announced she is resigning her position as of June 30th.
Boris-Schacter had hoped to do so while simultaneously announcing her hiring as assistant superintendent at Arlington Public Schools, but she announced that she did not get the position after becoming a finalist.
“It has been a privilege spending my time at Hunnewell, growing our school, supporting our children’s academic and social progress, and forging authentic and honest relationships with all of you,” Boris-Schacter wrote.
Earlier this year, Wellesley announced Jeffery Dees would be the new Principal at Upham Elementary School. Elaine Harald, who has been holding down the fort at Upham since Tracey Mara left, is retiring as Fiske Elementary School’s principal at the end of the school year.
Also on the Wellesley Public Schools adminstration front, Gerald Hill has dropped out of the Wellesley Public Schools superintendent competition, opting instead to take a job in West Bloomfield, Michigan, according to the West Bloomfield Patch. The Wellesley School Committee plans to make its choice from the remaining two candidates Tuesday night.
Meanwhile, the search goes on for a Wellesley Middle School principal.
Last year, Bates Elementary School tapped a new principal as did Schofield Elementary School.
