I got sucked into joining a group of about a dozen very fit Wellesley guys who ran their annual Summer Solstice race around Elm Bank Reservation (3 loops, about 3.4 miles) a little after 6am on Wednesday.
The winner received a bottle of champagne.
A couple of those apparently suffering from heat stroke jumped in the Charles River afterwards.
They do a Winter Solstice run, too, I learned. No jumping in the river for that, I hope.
