Train memorializing fallen military personnel rolling through Wellesley

June 13, 2012 by Bob Brown

The MBTA/Massachusetts Bay Commuter Railroad Goldstar Memorial train will be riding through Wellesley tonight (though exactly when is unclear from a Tweet issued by MBTA/MBCR).

The recently introduced coach train bears the names of every soldier, marine, sailor and airman who lost their lives while serving in Iraq and Afghanistan, and features Gold Star memorial emblems atop patriotic images.

According to the MBTA/MBCR: “The Gold Star Memorial coach will travel thousands of miles across Massachusetts and Rhode Island as a reminder of all of our fallen heroes who gave their lives during Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom.”
