Just when you thought Wellesley couldn’t get any crunchier, we learn that organic mattress and bedding company The Clean Bedroom is moving in next door to Whole Foods Market on Rte. 16.
According to the Kittery, Maine-based business, they’re headed to Wellesley in August. The business, founded in 2004, already has showrooms across the country, from Rhode Island to New York City to Santa Monica. Wondering what the heck an organic bedding is? The company says: “an organic mattress where materials are all-natural, clean and free of chemicals — the cotton is grown without pesticides; the latex is free of synthetics; for fire protection, pure wool is used.”
That will complete the transition of the former Star Market, Tian Fu and Rite-Aid spaces on Rte. 16/Washington Street/State Street to Whole Foods/Brookline Bank/The Clean Bedroom. You’ll soon be able to take money out from Brookline bank, buy yourself an organic mattress and eat your organic food in bed.
