The Boston Herald’s Inside Track is reporting that former First Lady Laura Bush will be visiting a private Wellesley home on Tuesday for a reception celebrating the life of Pulitzer Prize-winning writer Edith Wharton. The Globe reports Mrs. Bush will be visiting the Hunnewell mansion on Rte. 16.
Mrs. Bush is honorary chair of the National Committee for the Edith Wharton 150th Birthday Celebration, which has about 1 billion members listed. Wharton, author of The Age of Innocence, Ethan Frome and other classics, was born on Jan. 24, 1862 and fans generally flock to her former home, The Mount, in Lenox, Mass.
