Wellesley Theatre Project this weekend will showcase its first production, Seussical the Musical, at Wellesley Middle School.
Seussical, based on a mix of Dr. Seuss books, debuted on Broadway in 2000. It features characters such as the Cat in the Hat and will be performed mostly by Wellesley students, ages 7-15.
Show times this weekend are 7pm on Friday, Aug. 3, and 2pm on Saturday, Aug. 4. Tickets ($10 adults, $5 students/seniors) will be available for purchase at the door and online.
Wellesley Theatre Project’s next production will be Legally Blonde at Wellesley Middle School on Aug. 24-25.
Wellesley Theatre Project is a new nonprofit devoted to providing students with the opportunity to study and experience theatre and performing arts through classes, staged productions, private lessons, workshops and summer camps. Enrollment for fall classes has opened for students pre-K through 12th grade, and will take place beginning in September at WTP’s new Wellesley Square home, 98R Central St., near the downtown fire station.
