UPDATE: NECN is reporting that the suspect’s vehicle is a landscaping truck with a red cab, black body and gray grill, though Wellesley police said Friday night they had not given the media any vehicle description.

Wellesley Police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run accident in which a Wellesley man in his 40s was killed when struck by a truck heading north on Weston Road near Linden Street, just outside of Wellesley Square. The name of the victim, who was equipped with a safety helmet, hasn’t been released. He was found unresponsive at the scene and transported to Newton-Wellesley Hospital.
