Houses are going down left and right in Wellesley these day, creating lots of temporary brown and green space across town until replacement homes are erected.

The Curve Street teardown is tragic! What a lovely Victorian, why tear it down for some monstrosity? Peoples’ taste nowadays….really sad.
For those that are not in favor of this ongoing change in buyer demand – the pain may be easier to handle when the homes on the demo docket undergo planned brick-by-brick, screw-by-screw – deconstruction.
Hopefully the trend will gravitate out east. Here in the Chicago suburban market we are seeing many demolitions where the materials are saved and/or resold to buyers for reuse or simply given away to charities.
Seems to be a viable “green” solution for infill redevelopment (teardown and replacement of structures within established communities).
Just a thought.
Thanks,
Brian
