Chrislee Boutique has opened at 31 Central St., in Wellesley Square, where sells women’s and girls’ designer clothes and accessories.
Owner Christine Haddon Serowik says she moved the business from Needham, where her five-year lease ran out in June. The Wellesley space should be a better fit anyway, she says, because “90% of my customers were coming over from Wellesley.”
Haddon Serowik became friendly with Barbara O’Keeffe, owner of The Monogrammed Cottage, whose business had been at that space but was looking to move it back to her home. “I took the entire space down to the studs — it is a bit of St Barth’s in Wellesley. I absolutely love the way it turned out. I am absolutely delighted by the reaction of my first two weeks being open. I have never seen more foot traffic,” Haddon Serowik says.
She describes her merchandise as “classic wardrobe building pieces and custom ladies’ shirting…. My own private label blazer, tons of cashmere, a beautiful jewelry bar in the middle of the store, boots from my favorite British designer, jeans, silk tops for evening, fur. It is quite an eclectic mix.”
As we tipped you off this summer, Chrislee fills the space formerly occupied by The Monogrammed Cottage. Chrislee was located in Needham for 5 years, but left this summer when its lease expired.
