The Orionid shooting stars will be filling the skies this weekend, and nicely, Wellesley College is opening its Whitin Observatory 6- and 12-inch telescopes to the public that night from 7-9pm. Although peak viewing for the annual Halley’s Comet-related Orionid shower is closer to 10pm or even midnight, these things aren’t generally too precise, so maybe the telescopes will give you an edge at viewing the Orionids on the earlier side.
