The Little Cup of Hope event, being held at Wellesley Country Club on Dec. 16, has sold out. However, donations are still welcomed.
The event supports Flashes of Hope, a non-profit organization dedicated to creating powerful, uplifting portraits of children fighting cancer at Boston Children’s Hospital.
Locally, each month since 2009, Wellesley-based portrait photographer Roger Pelissier has volunteered his time transforming each hospital room into a photography studio giving the children and their families a chance to take a break from the routine of the hospital & medicine.
Little Cup of Hope will be an afternoon of Christmas cheer for children and their parents. Children attending will wear their pajamas and slippers and settle in for a cup of hot cocoa and treats, then it’s story time with a surprise reader and a visit with Frosty. Each child will be asked to bring a new pair of slippers. The slippers will be brought to Boston Children’s Hospital and given to the children who will be staying in the hospital during the holidays.
