UPDATE: Kristin Howard, the operator of the car that instigated the accident, has pleaded not guilty to being under the influence of drugs and alcohol. More from the Globe.
Wellesley Police have shared a video of a car accident that took place Friday at around 8:45AM on State Street, in front of Whole Foods (not uncommon to see Wellesley High students walking there on the way to classes). A little over a minute into this video you’ll see a driver exploding onto State Street and smashing into another vehicle, which hits another car heading in the opposite direction.
One person was transported to the hospital with injuries, and the woman driving the vehicle that caused the crash was arrested at the scene for multiple offenses, including operating under the influence of alcohol and drugs. WCVB-TV is reporting that the woman arrested is an ER doctor at Newton-Wellesley Hospital and according to prosecutors had been prescribing drugs to herself.

Wow. I can’t even imagine how that is possible. How did the driver get that much speed coming through the Whole Foods parking lot?
