Significant progress has been made by the Wellesley Police Department, working with the district attorney, in the investigation of a Wellesley cyclist’s death over the summer on Weston Road and police now expect that the case will go to a grand jury soon.
Another search warrant involving the driver of the vehicle that struck and killed 41-year-old Alex Motsenigos has been executed, though findings have been impounded by the court system and no further information is being made public about them at this time.
Wellesley Police have been quiet about the case and investigation in recent months, after a flurry of public communication at the start, when the force sought the public’s help in identifying witnesses or sharing any other information relevant to the accident. The public has been reminded of the case recently when a Ghost Bike was placed at the spot of the accident as a memorial, then removed shortly thereafter, as police were still conducting accident reconstruction investigations in the area.
