From the Wellesley Hills Junior Women’s Club:
The Wellesley Hills Junior Women’s Club (WHJWC), a non-profit volunteer organization dedicated to community service, is now accepting applications for grants.
In the last five years, the WHJWC has given away almost half a million dollars. In 2012, the club awarded $70,000 in grants to Wellesley and Metrowest organizations. The club donates to a variety of educational, recreational, healthcare, youth, elderly, civic and community programs. Particular emphasis is placed on those programs that have a significant impact on the Wellesley community as a whole and its individual residents.
Applications are available online at www.whjwc.org and should be sent to the attention of Kathy Barron, Chair, Donations Committee, juniorsdonations@yahoo.com, or mailed to WHJWC Donations, PO Box 81194, Wellesley Hills, MA 02481-0002 no later than February 1, 2013.
WHJWC was established in 1944 as a service organization under the Massachusetts Federation of Women’s Clubs. Through its four fundraisers – the Wellesley Phone Book, the Wellesley Marketplace Craft Festival, Luminary Night, and the Wellesley Kitchen Tour – WHJWC raises money that is given to local charities as well as to Wellesley scholarship recipients.
If you are interested in learning more about the WHJWC, please contact WHJWC President Kerrie Grover, kgrover@whjwc.org, or visit www.whjwc.org.
