LINX, the Linden Street business that’s been offering enrichment classes and camp programs in town since 2005, is expanding with an operation dubbed The Wellesley Tree House that caters to children up to 3 years old.
Wellesley Tree House will have its grand opening at 141 Linden St., on Jan. 2, though registration has already opened. Weekday programs include art, music, movement, sports, theater and more. Member benefits will include gym time, story times, discounted playgroups and lectures. LINX is aiming not just to engage children, but foster a community among member families.
The Tree House grows in part from Family Music Makers and Creative Movement, businesses acquired by LINX in recent years.
As for why the Tree House is called that, LINX has converted its facilities into an indoor tree house, complete with branches, leaves, grass and bubbles in the air. Upstairs (the canopy) features a tumble room and even a zipline. You can get a sneak peek on Wednesday, Dec. 19 from 10-11am. Kids, of course, are welcome.
Most other LINX programs are for older kids, with summer camps even extending to 9th/10th graders.
