Earlier this week, Wellesley Police Chief Terry Cunningham took part in transforming a local commuter train out of South Station into a Polar Express filled with holiday spirit for 600 children/family members from disadvantaged families. Cunningham and other volunteers read the Polar Express book to the guests along the way.
Now Wellesley Police are part of a volunteer convoy to make a young cancer patient in Virginia’s Christmas wish come true and you can catch a live stream of the action here. Wellesley is one of 80 departments taking part in the project, which involves some 200 officers and 93 police cars heading down from Burlington, Mass., today to hand deliver Christmas cards on Thursday to 6-year-old Nathan Norman. You can also follow the trip on Twitter at @WPDPhoto, or search Twitter using #Cards4Nathan for live updates from the road.
