Swellesley Report readers peppered us with questions Thursday afternoon after spotting numerous Wellesley and other police cars in the Pilgrim Road and Elmwood Road area just as school was getting out at nearby Bates Elementary School.

Here’s a brief take on what happened:

According to WPD Lt. Marie Cleary an 18-year-old male fled on foot from Pilgrim Road after a domestic altercation was reported and an officer showed up. The suspect was captured after he headed to Elmwood Road. Other police units arrived on the scene because communications were set in motion after the suspect initially took off.

The suspect was not armed, though did toss an object at the police officer, so it’s likely there will be a variety of charges brought when the man is arraigned.
