Wellesley’s neighbor to the north, Weston, is going wild this year over its 300th anniversary, celebrating its history with a series of events.
While the official, official, official commemoration took place this past weekend at Weston High, plenty more is in store, including historical presentations and exhibits, a movie night, a diversity recognition, golf, gardening, a field day, a fashion show and more between now and the end of 2013.
Looks like Wellesley, born in 1881, will need to wait until 2031 to get whipped into a another anniversary frenzy (150th), though even that will feel a little like celebrating a Wild Card Division Series win in baseball or AFC Championship win in pro football. Thinking only the Centennial, Bicentennial and for Weston, Tricentennial, etc., really count…
