With blizzard conditions expected all day Friday and Saturday morning, Town Government wants to keep you informed about a few key issues. We’ll continue to post updates on school and other Town closings as information becomes available. Please stay safe throughout the storm!
Real-Time Updates
The Wellesley Police Department will be providing real-time information about storm-related incidents throughout Town via a “Storm Blog” on the Department home page. The Police Department will also post real-time updates through it’s email and/or text message Community Notification Service. If you have a cell phone, this service is a great way to stay informed of what’s happening around Town, especially if you lose power or internet access. More information on this service and instructions on how to sign up are available HERE.
Power Outages
All outages should be reported directly to the Municipal Light Plant at 781-235-7600 x3390.
Emergency Preparedness
The Wellesley Health Department has provided an excellent collection of storm preparation and response tips from various governmental agencies. This information is available HERE.
Clean-Up / Hydrants
Department of Public Works crews will be busy plowing streets and sidewalks during and after the storm. The DPW and Fire Departments ask for your assistance in keeping hydrants in your neighborhood clear of snow — each hydrant is potentially vital in the event of an emergency!
