Wellesley Upper Crust Pizzeria, touting itself as “the birthplace of the famous Swellesley pizza,” has announced its re-opening at 99 Central St., in Wellesley Square.
As we reported in late January, the business had begun hiring for assorted positions, and after it got its OK from the Board of Selectmen recently, it was able to re-open for business.
The Wellesley shop and a number of others were sold under auction in December, with a bid of $110K reportedly being made for the Wellesley location.
Ben Deb, CFO for the outfit that snapped up the Wellesley shop and three others, told us in January that Upper Crust was being given a facelift inside, though the name of the restaurant remains the same as do the recipes on the menu.
