From the Wellesley town clerk:
Renewals of 2012 dog licenses are due on or before April 1, 2013. New dogs must be registered by the age of 6 months. Failure to license your dog in a timely manner can result in a $25 fine.
In 2012 owners registered 3012 dogs in Wellesley. So far in 2013 only 1923 dogs have been registered, so there are many owners who still need to renew their registrations.
Owners may license in person at the Town Clerk’s Office or by mail by sending a self addressed stamped envelope including: name, address, name of dog, breed, color, age, proof of current rabies vaccination and neutering certificate, if applicable. Renewals may also be done through the Recreation Department activity registration portal.
Registrations should be mailed to the Town Clerk’s Office, 525 Washington Street, Wellesley, MA 02482.
The annual fee for male and female dogs is $20, spayed/neutered dogs is $12.
Questions about dog licensing should be directed to the clerk’s office 781-431-1019 ext 2252. Questions about fines or animal control regulations should be addressed to Animal Control officer Sue Webb at 781-235-8460.
