Alex and Ani, a Rhode Island-based “positive energy company,” is headed for Wellesley Square. Upon investigation, the business generates positive energy by selling “eco-friendly” jewelry, made in the United States from recycled materials.
The jeweler is big into bangles, including Fenway Park and Yankee Stadium themed ones (of course the teams playing in those parks could use some positive energy this season).
Alex and Ani is on the hunt for a store manager in Wellesley, and its location appears to be in the 34 Central St., area where it looks to have locked down 1,500 sq. ft. of property from realtor/property owner EDENS.
Alex and Ani confirmed for us they’re looking to open in June.
Alex and Ani started up in 2004 and is the brainchild of designer Carolyn Rafaelian, whose family has long been in the jewelry making business. The tech-savvy jewelry company (which has worked with Wellesley’s Mobiquity to boost sales via use of mobile technology) has dozens of locations from Boston to Newport to Palm Beach. They also list Wellesley’s Pine Straw as an existing outlet for their wares.
The fast growing business has also branched out or plans to branch out into other areas, from marketing/public relations to beauty products to mansions (yup, Rafaelian recently snapped up Belcourt Castle in Newport). So they should feel right at home in Wellesley.
