From Wellesley Youth Basketball Association:
Over 200 boys and girls in Grades 3-8 participated in the Wellesley Youth Basketball Association’s Spring Hoops program which featured two weekend skills clinics followed by a 3-on-3 tournament that was co-hosted by LX Sports Camps at their Dana Hall campus. The 3-on-3 tourney gave kids the chance to try out their newly acquired skills in game situations.
The clinics were largely staffed by high school players with support from some members of the Wellesley High School basketball coaching staff. The tournament was orchestrated by the high school players and camp staff.
During the 3-on-3 tournament, former Celtics player Brian Scalabrine (who will be in Wellesley to coach summer basketball camp) was on hand and issued a number of “Scal-lenges” throughout the day, playing 3-on-1 against the winning team from each age group, with that 3-on-1 ratio quickly morphing into 10-on-1 or even 15-on-1.
