Babson College is taking some heat from students, faculty and staff over its choice of former Massachusetts Lt. Governor Kerry Healey as its next president, with those questioning the choice concerned about her political background and what they say is a lack of business experience. They’re also questioning the selection process itself, and there’s an online petiton on Change.org seeking support (though only 154 people had signed on to that as of this posting). The Globe reports on the issue here.
From what we hear, the student body and faculty overwhelmingly wanted Dennis Hanno, the dean of grad students, to be named president, though in the Globe article, Hanno takes the high road and supports the choice of Healey.
