Wellesley High grad Nate Freiman hit his first major league home run Monday night in Oakland, but the player’s thoughts were with those in Boston. Freiman grew up watching the marathon in Wellesley.
“Honestly, it was bittersweet,” said Freiman, who is from the Boston area and who spent his youth attending the Boston Marathon each year. “It was an amazing feeling but I’m not going to forget about what happened in Boston, my family is there. It was a great night for the team but we’re definitely thinking about everyone in Boston.”
