From Newton-Wellesley Hospital:
Planning is well underway for Newton-Wellesley Hospital (NWH) Charitable Foundation’s 14th Annual Gala, “Let’s Paint the Town Red,” which will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2013 at the Westin Copley Place in Boston and is expected to attract 700-800 guests. The fundraiser, which has the aim of funding construction of a new cardiovascular center at Newton-Wellesley Hospital to open in 2015, will include cocktails and silent auction, live auction, dinner and dancing.

Co-chairs for the event include Deborah and Bill Elfers, Tracey and John Cannistraro, Kim and Drew Conway, and Shirley and Chris Kelly, all of Wellesley. Wellesley’s Joan Barrett, Cindy Crofts-Wisch, Christina Dougherty, Margaret McNeill, and Caren Stanley are on the auction committee.
The multidisciplinary Cardiovascular Center will be a clinical collaboration with the Massachusetts General Hospital Cardiology Division and will be dedicated to the early diagnosis, evaluation, treatment and rehabilitation of patients with cardiovascular disease. Patients will have access to expert medical teams, including cardiologists, vascular surgeons, electrophysiologists and interventional radiologists from both Newton-Wellesley Hospital and Mass General—all in one convenient location.
“We have set a campaign goal of $6,000,000 to help build the Cardiovascular Center and we are hoping to raise $850,000+ at the Gala,” said Joan Archer, president, NWH Charitable Foundation. “The Cardiovascular Center represents an important step in bringing the highest-quality care to our community—the right care in the right place at the right time.”
