Town Meeting, as the Wellesley Town Clerk likes to say, has been “dissolved,” its work complete after 6 solid sessions over the past month.
In the latest action, Town Meeting members voted against a proposal for cluster subdivision development that residents had been briefed on.
Town Meeting members also voted in favor of amending downtown zoning rules, which should help pave the way for development of the old Wellesley Inn site.
In other votes, you’ll have to wait until at least summer of 2014 to consider setting up a medical pot shop in town, and if you do get nabbed smoking marijuana in public you’ll now get slapped with a $300 fine.
About a quarter of a million dollars in funds to repair the Wellesley Hills Branch Library chimney was approved. That’s going to be some chimney!
Other decisions, such as those about bike lanes in town, were put off for further discussion, as had been indicated before the meeting started.
