Babson College is inviting members of its community to establish a new grove of Isaac Newton apple trees on campus on April 19 to ensure that the famous gravity guy’s legacy lives on.
If you’re not aware, Babson College in Wellesley has Newton apple trees (such as the one shown here) on campus that are said to be descendents of the famous tree that Newton claimed inspired his theory of gravitation.
Babson has quite a collection of Newtonia, as it turns out, including over 1,000 volumes of Newton’s works, many autographed or annotated by the scientist. College founder Roger Babson credited Newton’s Third Law (“action and reaction”) for helping form his financial analysis concepts.
