Introducing Friends of the Wellesley Council on Aging
From the Friends of the Wellesley Council on Aging:
Have you heard that the Wellesley Council on Aging has a new group of ‘Friends’ in town? The Friends of the Wellesley Council on Aging is a non-profit organization established “to enrich the lives of Wellesley citizens 60 and over by increasing awareness of senior issues and providing financial support for special programs, activities and other needs of the COA.”
Our role is evolving as we come together to support aging in our vibrant Wellesley community. We intend to do all we can to meet the needs of seniors and promise to have a little bit of fun along the way. Funds are already being raised that could help expand programs and services including such things as a new van for transportation, furnishings for the Tolles-Parsons Senior Center, multigenerational activities/events and much more.
To accomplish this, we need your help, ideas and input!
Please join us on Thursday, May 23rd from 7 pm to 9 pm in the Wakelin room of the Wellesley Free Library to learn more about the ‘Friends of the Wellesley Council on Aging ’, share your thoughts and find out how YOU can help to make an immediate difference!
We are actively seeking Board members, Directors/Advisors and Volunteers to help with organizing, generating ideas, marketing, event planning/management, computing, web site development, graphic design/art, finance, legal, fundraising and much more!
