Longtime Wellesley resident Rolly Wester has worked out a consignment deal with Wellesley Books to sell his first book, Rhyming Around, which is a self-published collection of rhymes with titles such as “Young Ladies With Red Cars on Highways” and “In a Dentist’s Chair, Impatiently.”
Wester, who describes himself as retired though doing some substitute teaching in the Wellesley Public School system, says the poems are “mostly my attempt at humor”and are intended for adults.
Wester worked on the book in recent months, though says some of the poems go back a couple of years. He has read some publicly at venues of The Wellesley Players, of which Wester is a member. (There aren’t actually any references to Wellesley in the book, though Wester says maybe he should have included a few.)
The 55-page book costs about $12, and Wester says his biggest mistake was giving it away to so many friends/relatives first.
