From Neighbor Brigade:
Do you have an interest in community health and human services and want to take a leadership role with an innovative organization? Neighbor Brigade is looking for a new volunteer Wellesley Chapter Leader (the chapter is maintained through the Wellesley Friendly Aid Society).
Neighbor Brigade establishes and mobilizes community-based networks of volunteers to provide immediate and free assistance to residents experiencing sudden crises such as a cancer diagnosis, accident, or other tragedy. Neighbor Brigade transforms local communities into networks of support through which neighbors quickly mobilize to help other residents in emergency situations.
Our volunteers provide essential support services including home delivered meals, transportation to and from medical appointments, and home maintenance help. The organization is comprised of town-specific chapters, each managed by a Chapter Leader who recruits and coordinates volunteers within town. Chapter Leaders utilize volunteer management software to coordinate the chapter’s base and activities.
Responsibilities include:
- Develop and manage a volunteer network within your town
- Conduct intake of recipients and post requests for help on online calendar
- Conduct community outreach to partnering organizations, such as schools and other family service agencies.
