From the Wellesley Historical Society:
The Wellesley Historical Society will be holding its annual gala/fundraiser at Wellesley College’s Alumnae Hall on June 20 and the public is invited. The event will feature an historical display of firefighting in Wellesley, including trucks, plus a silent auction, scholarship awards, food stations, music and more.
Society executive director Bob Damon points out that Wellesley College was the site of one of the town’s most spectacular fires when College Hall burned to the ground in 1914.
Tickets to the gala, which starts at 5:30pm, are $125 per person.
Separately, the Society’s annual golf tournament will be held at Nehoiden Golf Club starting at 8am on June 24 and will include breakfast, lunch, prizes, and 18 holes of golf. For information, contact Bob Damon at 781-235-6690 or bob.damon@
