The Wellesley School Committee newsletter came out this AM. It covers milk pricing, Schofield’s HVAC, school wellness and more. But no mention of the topic that really stole the show at the committee’s Tuesday meeting: the re-assignment of WHS orchestra director Mary Alice McCann.
In fairness, though, we couldn’t find mention of Citizens Speak topics in earlier newsletters either: School Committee sticks to its agenda in these write-ups. The Committee has explained that it doesn’t discuss or become involved in personnel decisions, and apparently that extends to its newsletter. The School Committee did clarify at the beginning of the Citizens Speak portion of its meeting that it is intended for committee members to listen to citizens, not conduct dialogue at that point.
The Committee does include notes on Citizens Speak in its meeting minutes, published on the Wellesley Public Schools website, though it sometimes takes a while for new meeting minutes to be uploaded there. Given that about a third of this past week’s meeting was taken up with Citizens Speak, it could take a while to write up those notes…
