The Wellesley Police Department on Thursday arrested two men in connection with the theft of $5K+ worth of copper wire from the Wellesley Municipal Light Plant on Rte. 9.
Some good detective work, including observations during a traffic violation stop a few days earlier of a car driven by the same men allegedly involved in the copper theft, helped the Wellesley police crack the case.
Wellesley has been a hotbed for copper thieves in recent years, with construction sites and churches also being targeted by those who would resell the copper to salvage yards for good money.
