Orange Leaf, a self-serve frozen yogurt business out of Oklahoma City, is planning to open a Wellesley outlet, possibly by December. A location hasn’t been determined yet.
Orange Leaf’s business has been booming, with the number of shops exploding from 15 to 280 in the U.S. since 2010. The company offers a variety of flavors, plus healthy (fruit) and other tasty toppings.
According to company spokesman Richie Mills, the Wellesley store “is in its very early stages and the estimated time of opening is December of this year. Of course the construction can move much quicker than that or extend later than that date, but if everything goes to plan, it should be opening close to the end of the year.”
This would present fresh competition for the likes of Pinkberry in Linden Square, Swizzles in Needham and Wellesley’s assorted ice cream shops, including the new Baskin-Robbins in Wellesley Square.
