If you haven’t noticed, longtime Wellesley business Lee Volvo is no longer around. The Rte. 9 East dealership has been purchased by the Bernardi organization and now is called Volvo of Wellesley.
The new outfit officially started up June 1 as Bernardi Group’s 7th locally-owned dealership, according to general manager Keith Monnin (other dealerships are in Natick, Brockton and other communities, and feature cars from Toyota, Honda and others).
Volvo of Wellesley offers a variety of late model used vehicles, not just Volvos, plus of course new Volvos.
The business is undergoing a complete renovation of its facilities over the next 90 days, though not before it has a soft Grand Opening next Thursday at 6pm, with wine and cheese in the showroom. The dealership mailed out 8,000 invites.
The dealership changeover was called to our attention by reader LR, who says her family recently had some work on their car done there, and found the service/pricing improved over what they’d experienced at the facility a few years back.
The existing Lee Volvo land is prime real estate. It would be an asset to Wellesley and Metrowest if that property was used for a business that incorporated Morse Pond (it abuts the north edge of Morse Pond). Something like a brewery (i.e., Treehouse East, or Lord Hobo West) with business and huge deck overlooking the pond…..just dreaming
When did they drop Jaguar? Seems that went away quietly a few years ago as well.
