Italy’s AS Roma football team (as in soccer) practiced Wednesday at Wellesley College, drawing a crowd of fans. Weston’s mega-rich James Pallotta, a local investor who also is a Boston Celtics shareholder, brought them here.
Local sportscaster Mike Dowling tweeted about the scene, featuring star player Francesco Totti.

The team, described in this recent Globe piece as Italy’s version of the Red Sox, recently played a friendly match vs. the MLS All-Stars.
Earlier this summer, Wellesley Youth Soccer hosted clinics with Manchester United coaches.
