The Wellesley Club, a civic organization that’s been going strong since 1889, will its first meeting of the club’s 2013/2014 year on Monday, Sept. 30 at the Harvard Club on Commonwealth Avenue in Boston. The social hour will begin at 5:30 PM with dinner at 6:30 PM.

Featured speakers will be Robert Evans, Ed.D. and Mark Kline, Psy.D. from The Human Relations Service (HRS), Wellesley’s private, non-profit community mental health agency. They will speak on “Raising Digital Children” in this world of social media, video gaming and other Internet technologies. Evans and Kline will explore issues such as how children, parents and grandparents are dealing with these distracting but vital resources.

Evans is the Executive Director and Kline is the Clinical Director of the HRS. Both have worked with town families and schools for more than 20 years.
Town residents with an interest in The Wellesley Club should visit www.wellesleyclub.org or email info@wellesleyclub.org.
If you’re frustrated with your children and other children’s dependence/addiction to technology and games, do yourself a favor and go see Dr. Rob Evans. I’ve seen the man speak. He is a treat, and among the most knowledgeable, insightful and reasonable speakers I’ve ever heard.
