Wellesley Choral Society is beginning its 67th season and is looking for new voices. An Open Rehearsal where interested singers can get to know the group takes place on Monday, Sept 9, from 7:30 – 9:30 pm in the Wakelin Room at the Wellesley Free Library, 530 Washington St.,
Wellesley (use parking lot entrance). Additional Open Rehearsals will take place on Monday, Sept 16 and 23 at the same time and location. There are openings for all voice parts, and singers of high school age and older are welcome. Auditions are not required. Present membership comes from Wellesley and many other Metrowest communities.
The Society rehearses on Monday evenings at the Wellesley Free Library and presents three concerts a year at different venues in Wellesley, as well as one or two fundraising events. Two professional musicians head up the group. Edward Whalen is Music Director and Hisako Hiratsuka is accompanist.
The program for the 2013 – 2014 season features the music of Claudio Monteverdi in the Fall Concert (sacred and secular works); Songs of Fun and Frivolity in the Winter Cabaret and works by the young Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart in the Spring Concert.
