The Wellesley resident and former Newton-Wellesley Hospital doctor who practically flew her car out of the Whole Foods parking lot last November while drunk and smashed into a car on State Street, has eluded jail time for the incident (see the Townsman story for a full account from the Dedham courtroom).
Fortunate not to have killed other drivers, students heading to school or herself, the driver has taken steps to get her life straightened out since the accident, according to her attorney. The driver, who will no longer practice medicine, pleaded guilty to operating her car under the influence and for leaving the scene of an accident. She gets 3 years of probation, community service and no driving license for 2 years.
The accident received massive amounts of local media coverage last year.
