The second annual Pan-Massachusetts Challenge Teen Mountain Bike Ride, for those between the ages of 13 and 18, is slated for Sunday, Sept. 29th at 10am at The Hale Reservation in Westwood, Mass. Organizers have chosen a 1.7-mile gently rolling carriage trail, which riders can loop around multiple times during the event.
The ride, which was started by Wellesley brother and sister Matthew and Nicole Piispanen, raises funds for the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute like other PMC events. Last year’s ride involved over 100 teens from 20 high schools and raised over $13,000.
A party is scheduled after the event with student DJs, food, and raffle prizes. Two mountain bikes will be given away; one awarded to the top fundraiser and one in the raffle.
