Over the years, we’ve received photos of animals, rainbows and just about everything else that shows up in Wellesley, but this is the first time residents have sent us a photo of what looks like a Whole Foods aisle breaking out in their yard.
Victoria Liggero writes: “My husband Sam captured these mushrooms that appeared in our yard recently. We removed an oak tree from this part of our yard many years ago. Chipmunks have been burrowing in this area for a long time. Sam was so fascinated that he photographed the growing process over several days.”
We hit up a local mushroom expert for his take on what this growth might be: He suspects honey mushrooms, which he doesn’t advise eating.
