Wellesley Police issued the following information about traffic/parking on Thanksgiving morning, in light of the Turkey5 road race and Wellesley-Needham football game:
The ‘Turkey 5’ road race will be starting at 8:00 AM from the 200 block area of Linden Street near the Roche Brothers entrance. The road race has both a 5 mile and 5 kilometer course, with two start times, one at 8:00 AM; the second at 8:15 AM. The courses make their way through Wellesley Square on Central Street and on Washington Street near Grove. Part of the race also traverses the Wellesley College campus and Rt. 135. Please be alert for runners and expect some delays between 8AM and 9 AM in the following areas:
Linden Street from the Roche Brothers entrance to Crest Road (Everett Street to Linden Street)
Crest Road from Linden Street to Central Street
Washington Street at Grove (primarily Grove Street)
Dover Road between Grove and Washington Street
Central Street (Rt. 135) from the Wellesley College entrance to Crest Road (eastbound.)
The runners and the course will be clear and off the roads by 9:10 AM.
