The more details that emerge from the arrest of Brian Kalil of Quincy in connection with last weekend’s robbery at TD Bank in Wellesley, the more violent we’re learning the arrest actually was.
An initial press release from the police on Thursday stated that “There were no injuries reported at the conclusion of the incident.”
But since then, photos have been released of the suspect looking pretty banged up, including with a bandaged arm. The latest release says that Kalil was injured while fighting a K9 cop named Blitz who Kalil allegedly threw down a set of stairs. Blitz had sniffed out Kalil, who was hiding in the attic of a Quincy residence.
So now in addition to being charged with unarmed robbery and larceny over $250, Kalil also faces a charge of assault and battery on a police dog. Blitz is expected to recover from a puncture wound, cuts and bruises, and return to the force.
