From The Wellesley Free Library Foundation:

The Wellesley Free Library Foundation hosted its second Gala on Jan. 23 at Wellesley Country Club. The evening featured a conversation with Former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright moderated by Mike Barnicle as well as a speech “In Praise of Libraries” by former Ambassador R. Nicholas Burns. Guests were also treated to a surprise visit by Congressman Joseph Kennedy. Nearly 20% of the WFL’s operating budget is met through private fund.  The Gala is the Foundation’s single largest fundraiser and this year raised more than $190,000 to support the library.
