TED Talks, those snappy live presentations in which smart people share smart ideas with other smart people, are coming for the first time to Wellesley College on Feb. 22 through a sort of spin-off program called TEDxWellesleyCollege. The theme of the program is Consilience.
“In line with the TED spirit of propagating ideas worth spreading, we hope to push the boundaries in terms of bringing some of the world’s most creative and inspiring leaders, thinkers, and innovators to Wellesley College and foster a lively discourse within the Wellesley community on some of the most challenging topics confronting our generation,” according to organizers.
More than a dozen speakers will present their ideas, and include the president of the Rhode Island School of Design, a molecular animator and an astronaut.
The public is invited to this free event and registration opens later this week, though note that the actual live event sessions at the Ruth Nagel Jones Theatre will each be restricted to 100 members of the Wellesley College community. The rest of you are invited to a simulcast at Alumnae Hall.
