Linden Square in Wellesley is getting something of a new look, as previously vacant storefronts sandwiching Ace Hardware and Jos. A Bank this week reveal that mattress company Sleepy’s is soon coming to town and that the Wellesley Community Art Project has struck again.
Sleepy’s, which has been in business for 80 years and has over 1,000 stores across the country, sells a wide variety of mattresses, including those from brand names like Sealy and Serta. Sleepy’s has already surrounded us with stores in Natick, Newton, Sudbury and Framingham, among other Massachusetts locations.
Meanwhile, Wellesley ACE Hardware is apparently losing some of its Wellesley-ness, changing its name to R.W. Shattuck Ace Hardware.
And who knows what the heck is going to happen with Jos. A. Bank, which just agreed to buy the Eddie Bauer outdoor clothing retailer for $825M and is entangled in a back-and-forth possible buyout situation with rival Men’s Wearhouse.
And finally, the storefront to the right of Jos. A. Bank is now being made more attractive thanks to the works displayed by Wellesley Community Art Project from students of a Wellesley Recreation Department art class. Vincent van Gogh’s Starry Night was the inspiration here.
