Wellesley claims connection to Oscar-winner Steve McQueen

12 years a slaveWellesley College’s Davis Museum was rooting for Steve McQueen’s “12 Years a Slave” to score big at the Academy Awards on Sunday and indeed, McQueen’s film did win the Best Picture award.

McQueen was artist-in-residence at the museum in 2004, during which time he was described as “one of the leading young international contemporary video and filmmakers.” During his stint at Wellesley College McQueen presented his works Drumroll (1998), Prey (1999), and Exodus (1992-97).
